I've been crocheting for thirty some years but have just recently discovered loom knitting. It's similar to what we did as kids with wooden spools and nails--only on a bigger scale. It goes really quickly and in the last week I've managed to whip out 5 hats and am getting ready to start one for Desi.
I wasn't bright enough to remember to take pictures of the first two hats that I did but I'll get pictures of them later on. I made a hat for my daughter on the regular adult size loom and it fits fine--WAY too snug for me!! I've always had a problem getting hats to fit. I've made hats for myself and and a friend on the bigger loom (11.5 inch or 41 peg). They fit fine and don't feel like the circulation is going to be cut off.
The hat shown at the right is one made for a friend of mine. It is black worsted with a fancy fun yarn called Labrynth in black. It has some nice, classy features and looks really swell made up with the black worsted. In fact, I was so pleased with how it worked up, I'm going to make myself one just like it. Oh, that's Teeny investigating the new wig head I brought home.
This purple hat is one I made for myself. Purple is my favorite color and this one was made with black worsted and another fancy yarn called Paradox in purple. I got all these yarns at Hobby Lobby. I've been very pleased with how all of these hats turned out.
